SpaghettiKart on Mac: how to play Mario Kart 64

SpaghettiKart runs on a Mac. It is a native PC port of Mario Kart 64, made by HarbourMasters. The current release, 1.0.0 (February 25, 2026), ships a Mac build (separate native builds for Apple Silicon and Intel). You supply your own copy of the game; SpaghettiKart supplies everything else.

How to install SpaghettiKart on a Mac

  1. Download the zip for your Mac from the releases page and extract it to its own folder.
  2. Version 1.0.0 is not an app: it is a program called Spaghettify plus its data files. The project documents no Mac steps for it; running Spaghettify from that folder (double-click, or from Terminal) is the usual route. Newer test builds package it as SpaghettiKart.app.
  3. Get past Gatekeeper. macOS blocks it the first time because the project is not signed by Apple. Control-click the app and choose Open. On macOS 13 or later, if that offers no Open button, go to System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway (it appears for about an hour after the first attempt).

SpaghettiKart on its official page: download only from there. Sites offering a version with the game already inside are pirated, and often carry malware.
